Cat and Owl Alchemy is the first and as of today (10/2/23) only Sound Clinic to offer Vibro Acoustic Therapy in the Southern Indiana area. This particular form of treatment, which has been used since the 80’s is beneficial in many ways by using vibration as well as auditory stimulation. When activated, low frequency vibrations are projected throughout every cell of your body. While these vibrations are being projected into your tissues, bones, fluid and cells, you are listening to music set to specific frequencies to meet your needs. The headset uses state of the art noise canceling technology so you are totally surrounded by frequency and vibration. For a truly cocooning experience, heated and massaging eye masks are used.

We all can attest to the healing benefits of music. Whether we are using it to listen to to help us study, sleep or reduce stress. Research has shown that by using music, specifically in the form of vibrations, can be used on the human body to enduce brain entrainment, allowing our minds to connect and ease into delta brain wave patterns. When using Vibroacoustics, music is not only heard through the ear, but delivered to the body directly, vibrating every part inside and out — cells, muscles, tendons, and organs, as well as nerves, spinal cord, and areas of the brain and brainstem. I also incorporate Himalayan Bronze bowls on the other side of the body, to further enhance treatment, and to allow more vibrations to encompass and surround the body during the session. Some of the benefits of using this type of therapy include:
• Every cell is penetrated allowing the body and mind to relax.
• Cells are receiving energy producing vibrations which can replenish and rejuvenate to help make one feel more invigorated.
• Vibrations can counteract chaotic frequencies that attack our bodies throughout the day (noise, electricity, cell phones, traffic, etc.)
• Harmonize the body back into its natural consistent vibrational state, creating a peace that is natural to our system
• Drive energy from cell to cell, clearing blockages and stimulating neural pathways

Benefits found through the use of Vibroacoustics:

One study, conducted by Dr. Patrick George, found out of his 267 patients 50% showed a reduction of symptoms and pain from physiological and behavioral issues. This theory is that through Vibroacoustics, pain relief is the result of being able to relax through the use of Vibroacoustics.

Studies used with patients under going chemotherapy at the Jupiter Medical Center in Florida, found that there was over a 62% reduction of anxiety and fatigue when using vibroacoustic therapy. The 27 patients went through 41 vibroacoustic sessions.

At Duke University, vibroacoustic therapy was used in patients after undergoing knee repacement sugery. Patients showed an increased range of motion after using Vibroacoustic therapy. Cardiovascular surgeons who used vibroacoustic therapy during surgery found their patients didn’t need as much of a sedative or pain medication following surgery. They also found that their time spent in the hospital, or time on the ventilator was greatly reduced.

These are just a few examples. The below list is further benefits of using vibroacoustic therapy for many health reasons.

• Reduces oxygen consumption
• Decreases blood pressure
• Slows heart rate
• Slows respiration rate
• Relaxes muscles

Mentally, deep relaxation:
• Changes brain wave frequencies (generally slowing down from beta to alpha and alpha to theta or delta)
• Clears the mind from anxiety
• Creates a feeling of calm and peacefulness

Plus, the more you do this kind of therapy, you will be able to know how you can, for yourself, relax and de-stress.

What to expect from a VAT (Vibroacoustic Therapy Session)
Vibroacoustic therapy offers a calming and restorative experience that requires no special expertise and is performed while fully clothed. You can recline on a specially designed lounge or sit in a chair equipped with transducers that emit targeted frequencies as vibrations.

Sessions typically last around 25 minutes, during which the therapist selects frequencies tailored to your needs. Nature sounds or music may also accompany these frequencies for added relaxation.

Following the session, you'll have the opportunity to debrief with your therapist. Together, you can assess the session's impact and make adjustments to optimize the benefits of your treatment plan.

More thoughts on VAT
Vibroacoustic therapists do not provide medical diagnoses or claim to cure illnesses or conditions. It's important to consult with your physician before beginning any treatment program. As with any therapy, results cannot be guaranteed. Consistent sessions are typically most effective in achieving desired outcomes.

Individuals with very low blood pressure or thrombus are not typically recommended for VAT treatment. While there is no evidence of VAT causing harm, as a precaution, pregnant women are advised against undergoing this therapy.
