FAQ’S
What is sound therapy?
Sound therapy uses carefully selected frequencies, tones, and vibrations to support relaxation, stress reduction, nervous-system regulation, and overall well-being.
At Cat & Owl Alchemy, sessions may include crystal singing bowls, vibroacoustic therapy, tuning forks, gentle instrumentation, and intentional silence.
What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a guided, immersive listening experience. You lie down comfortably while waves of sound and vibration move through the room and the body, encouraging deep rest and release. You don’t do anything, just receive.
What’s the difference between a community sound bath and a private session?
Community sound baths are group experiences focused on relaxation, connection, and collective calm.
Private sessions (VST or VAT) are personalized, one-on-one experiences tailored to your specific needs and goals.
What is Vibrational Sound Therapy (VST)?
VST uses sound played on and sometimes around the body to support deep relaxation, energetic balance, and stress relief. The vibrations are felt physically as well as heard.
What is Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT)?
VAT uses low-frequency sound delivered through a specialized table that you lie on. The vibrations travel directly into the body, helping calm the nervous system and release physical tension. Many people describe it as “a massage made of sound.”
Do I need to believe in anything for this to work?
No. Sound therapy works through physics and the nervous system. You don’t need to meditate, visualize, or have any spiritual beliefs for it to be beneficial.
🧘♀️ First-Timer Questions & Comfort Concerns
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing. Think cozy, layers are helpful since the body can cool during deep relaxation.

What if I fall asleep?
That’s completely normal, and often a sign your nervous system is settling. Your body still receives the benefits.
What if I get emotional during a session?
Emotional release can happen. Tears, laughter, or strong feelings are all welcome and supported. You’re in a safe, non-judgmental space.
What if I don’t feel anything?
Every experience is different. Some people feel immediate shifts; others notice changes later, better sleep, reduced stress, or improved mood over the next few days.
Is it okay if my mind wanders?
