Starting Small & Growing Along the Way

Whiskers & Wings Refillery is starting small, thoughtfully and intentionally, with a collection of products I truly believe in. As we grow, I’ll be adding more refill options and new products based on what you love, what you need, and what makes sense for our little refillery.

And the best part? Bring your own clean, dry container from home and refill it! An old laundry bottle, a jar, or another appropriate container you already have is perfect. That’s what refill culture is all about: using what we already have and keeping perfectly good containers out of the waste stream.

Don’t have a container? No worries. Refillable containers will also be available to purchase in the shop.

Come with a bottle, leave with it full, and when it’s empty...bring it back and do it all over again.

Partnership with Rustic Strength

I am so happy that Whiskers & Wings Refillery is a refill partner with Rustic Strength, a family-run company in Missouri that shares so many of the values behind why I wanted to create this refillery in the first place.

One of the things I love most about Rustic Strength is their commitment to knowing what is actually in the products we bring into our homes. They provide full ingredient information for their products and encourage people to read, research, ask questions, and make informed choices for themselves. That is incredibly important to me. I am a researcher at heart. If I’m going to use something in my own home and offer it to you at Whiskers & Wings, I want to know what’s in it and why it’s there.

Rustic Strength began as a family’s search for better options after dealing with health and sensitivity concerns in their own home. What started with experimenting with their own laundry detergent eventually grew into a family business creating concentrated cleaning and wellness products made in small batches in the Missouri Ozarks.

I also love that their philosophy goes beyond what is inside the bottle. Refill, reuse, and reducing unnecessary waste are built into what they do. Rustic Strength works with refill shops around the country and has developed a closed-loop program that allows bulk containers to be returned, sanitized, and put back into use rather than simply thrown away.

That fits beautifully with what I want Whiskers & Wings to be.

I don’t believe living more sustainably has to mean throwing everything in your house away and starting over. Quite the opposite! Use what you have. Reuse what you can. Refill instead of replacing when possible. Learn about the products you use every day, and make changes little by little as they make sense for you.

I spent a lot of time looking for a company I felt good about partnering with, and Rustic Strength checked so many of my boxes: ingredient transparency, refillable products, thoughtful manufacturing, sustainability, a family-owned story, and products I genuinely feel good about bringing into the shop.

And that is really what Whiskers & Wings is about.
